is a professor of Department of Statistics, Capital Normal University. He received
his Ph.D degree from Peking University and served as a teacher for Peking
University from 1984 to 2009. He was promoted to professor in 1997 and was
the head of Department of Probability and Statistics Peking University from
1998 to 2008. His research interests include time series and survival analysis. He
published more than 40 research papers and wrote several books for students,
such as Applied Time Series, Stochastic Processes, Introduction to Probability
and Mathematical Statistics.

Jiang Scholar Chair Professor in Beijing Normal University, a Vice President
of the Chinese Society of Probability and Statistics (2006--2014), a Council
Member of the Bernoulli Society for Mathematical Statistics and Probability
(2009--2013), a member of the Editorial Committee of “Acta Mathematica
Sinica” (2009--) and “Probability and Mathematical Statistics” (2011--). He was
a one hour plenary speaker at the “31st Conference on Stochastic Processes
and their Applications” (Paris, France, 2006, 07, 17--21) and a Member of the

Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences
(CAS), Beijing, China. He received his PhD degree from the Institute of Applied
Mathematics, CAS in 1995, worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Peking
University from 1995 to 1997, and as a research fellow at the Max-Planck
Society and Bielefeld University, Germany from 1999 to 2001. He was the
secretary general of Chinese Mathematical Society (2004--2007), a Vice
President of Chinese Mathematical Society (2008--2011), a Vice Editor-in-Chief

Mingyao Ai
is Associate Professor of Statistics and PhD students supervisor in Peking University, Beijing, China. He got his Bachelor and Master degrees from
Central China Normal University in 1988 and in 1991, respectively, and
PhD from Nankai University in 2003. From then on he has been working at
Peking University. He is vice secretary general of both the Chinese Society of
Probability and Statistics and the Chinese Association for Applied Statistics.
He is also vice director of the Design of Experiments division of the Chinese
Association for Applied Statistics. He now serves as associate editor for
Journal of Statistical Planning and Inference and the journal STAT launched
by the International Statistical Institute. Dr. Ai’s research interests are on
the design and analysis of experiments, computer experiments, multivariate
analysis, quality control and applied statistics and probability. He works on
the construction and analysis of the designs for all kinds of experiments, and
related statistical modeling and parameter optimization. He is the author or
co-author of two books and over forty journal papers.
Hengjian Cui
is a Professor and Head of Department of Statistics, School of Mathematical
Sciences, Capital Normal University, Beijing, China. He received his B.S. and
M.S. degrees in Mathematics from Beijing Normal University (BNU),China in
July 1983 and 1986 respectively, and received his Ph.D degree in Statistics
from Institute of System Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences in July 1993.
He had been working at BNU since June 1983 to March 2011. He was a
visiting scholar in Department of Statistics of University of Illinois at Urbana-
Champaign and Department of Mathematics of Arizona State University
from July 2000 to August 2001. He was a council member of Probability
and Statistics Association of China from 1998 to 2002; standing council
member of Probability and Statistics Association of China from 2002 to 2006;
membership committee of the International Chinese Statistical Association
from 1999 to 2002; council member of (and also Survival Analysis Division)
Applied Statistics Association of China from 2004 to 2008. He serves
or served as editor of Application of Statistics and Management from
2006, for Acta Mathematica Applicatae Sinica (both Chinese version and English version) from 2007. Professor Cui’s research interests are including
parametric estimation theory in statistical linear model, measurement error
(errors-in-variables) model; multivariate data analysis; nonparametric,
semiparametric and robust statistics; empirical likelihood method; statistical
computing and numerical analysis; model checking and the theory of
statistical depth functions and its applications to multivariate exploratory
data analysis, pattern recognition, quality control , etc.
Junyi Guo
is a professor of Nankai University, and Dean of the School of Mathematical
Sciences, Nankai University, Tianjin, China. He received his Ph.D. in 1995
from Nankai University. His early research interest was Markov process
theory and measure-valued Markov processes. Since year 2000, he mainly
works in the field of insurance risk theory and its interplay with stochastic
control theory and mathematical finance. His more than 30 international
publications cover works on classical ruin problems, optimal reinsurance
and optimal investment strategies, optimal dividend problems, Gerber-
Shiu functions on dependent risk He is now the vice president of Tianjin
Mathematical Society, standing member of the council of The Chinese
Society of Probability and Statistics, Standing member of the council of
The Chinese Society of Interdisciplinary Sciences, Member of the editorial
board of international journal of “Interdisciplinary Sciences”, Member of the
editorial board of Chinese journal of “Applied Probability and Statistics”.
Xianping Guo
received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Applied Mathematics from Hunan
Normal University, China, in 1987 and 1990, respectively. He attended
the Changsha Railway University, P.R. China, where he received his Ph.D.
degree in Probability and Statistics in 1996. Since then, he has held the
position of Postdoctoral Researcher for two years in Zhongshan University,
China, visited the University of Queensland and the University of South
Australia, Australia from Sep. 1988 to May 1999. He held a position of a
visiting professor in CINVESTAV-IPN, Mexico from Aug. 2000 to Jul. 2002, and worked for more than three years in the Hong Kong University of
Science and Technology and more than one year in the Chinese University
of Hong Kong, as a visiting scholar. He has published more then 40 papers
in international journals such as Ann. Appl. Probab.,Adv. in Appl. Probab.,
Bernoulli, J. Appl. Probab.,J. Theory Probab, SIAM J. Optim., SIAM J. Control

Professor and the chairman of the Department of Statistics and Finance,
University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). He received his
PhD in Probability and Statistics from USTC in 1994. Hu's major research
interests are stochastic comparisons,extreme value theory, and applied
probability. He has published more than 90 research papers. He is currently
an associate editor of the four journals, Insurance: Mathematics and
Economics, Computational Statistics and Data Analysis, Quality Technology
and Quantitative Management, Journal of Data Analysis, and is a member of
the editorial board for Chinese Journal of Applied Probability and Statistics.
Jinguan Lin
Professor and vice chairman of Department of Mathematics at Southeast
University. He is also president of Jiangsu Association for Probability and
Statistics, vice president of Jiangsu Association for Applied Statistics, director
of Chinese Association for Probability and Statistics, standing director of
Chinese Association for Applied Statistics. His research interests include
Statistical Diagnostics, Longitudinal Data Analysis, Fuzzy Statistics, Extremes
Statistics. He has published more than 60 papers in the international and
some important national journals after he received his Ph.D from Southeast University in 2002.
Shunlong Luo
graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 1989, and got his PhD in
probability and statistics from Wuhan University in 1995. He became a
professor of the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese
Academy of Sciences in 2001. He is the director of the Division of Probability
and Statistics at the Institute of Applied Mathematics. His research interests
include probability, statistics and quantum information theory. He has
published about 70 research papers in international journals. He is one of
the editors of the book ``Recent Development in Stochastic Dynamics and
Stochastic Analysis” (World Scientific, 2010), and one of the guest editors of
two special issues ``Quantum Correlations: Entanglement and Beyond” of
International Journal of Quantum Information (World Scientific, 2011).
Liuquan Sun
is a Professor at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese
Academy of Sciences, and the associate director of the Division of Probability
and Statistics at the Institute of Applied Mathematics. He received his PhD
in Probability and Statistics from Peking University in 1998. His research
interests are survival analysis, biostatistics, statistics in medicine, recurrent
event and longitudinal data analysis, interval-censored survival data analysis,
and statistical analysis of incomplete data. He has published more than 80
papers in journals including JASA, Biometrika, Biometrics, Statist. Sinica, Stat.
Med., Scand. J. Statist. and so on.
Shanjian Tang
was borne in April, 1966 in Wulian, Shandong Province. He received the
Bachelor and the Master Degrees in Mathematics from Shandong University,
and the Ph. D. in Mathematics from Fudan University. He got the Alexander
von Humboldt Research Fellowship in 1999. He is now a Chang Jiang Scholar
with Fudan University, and the Chairman of Department of Finance and
Control Sciences, School of Mathematical Sciences, Fudan University. His
research fields include stochastic control theory and financial mathematics. He serves in the editorial boards of SIAM J Control and Optimization, the
book Series in Quantitative Finance (published by World Scientific Publishing
Company), Journal of Control Theory and Applications, Management
Science & Financial Engineering, among several other Chinese mathematical
journals.
Qihua Wang
is Professor of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese
Academy of Science, Beijing, China. He got his bachelor’s degree from Anhui
Normal University in 1986, Master degree from Eastchina Normal University
in 1989 and Ph.D degree from Peking University in 1996. He worked at
Institute of Applied Mathematics, Chinese Academy of Science as a post-
doctor from 1996-1998, at Peking University as a Lecturer from 1998-2000.
He has been working at Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science,
Chinese Academy of Science since 2000. He got National Distinguished
Young Scholar Award in 2007, and was named a Chang Jiang Scholar by the
Ministry of Education in China in 2009. He is a member of IMS. He serves
as the Editor-in-Chief for Open Journal of Statistics, an Associate Editor for
Annals of Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Journal of Applied Probability
and Statistics, Science in China, Acta Math Apply Sinica and so on. He is vice
President of Chinese Society of Biostatistics. He has published more than
80 papers. Among them, more than 60 has been published in international
journals such as JASA, Annals of Statistics and Biometrika. Professor Qihua
Wang’s research work mainly focuses on missing data analysis, statistical
analysis with surrogate data and validation sampling, survival analysis,
empirical likelihood, semi- and non-parametric statistics, high dimensional
data analysis.
Zhaojun Wang
is a Professor of Nankai University, Tianjin, China. He got his bachelor's
degree from Nankai University in 1987, Master Degree from East China
Normal University in 1990, and Doctor of Science from Nankai University
in 1995. He has been working at Nankai University since July 1990. He is President of Tianjin’s Applied Statistical Association and serves for several
other national statistical organizations. He serves as associate editor for
Chinese Journal of Applied Statistics and Management since 1996. Professor
Wang’s research interests include Statistical Process Control, Quality
engineering, High-dimensional data analysis, Dimension-reduction. He works
on quality control and monitoring methods, estimation and testing on high-
dimensional covariance matrix.
Yaohua Wu
is a Professor of University of Science and Technology of China, Hefei, China.
He got his bachelor's degree from University of Science and Technology of
Chin in 1983, Master of Science from University of Science and Technology of
Chin in 1986, Doctor of Science from University of Science and Technology of
Chin in 1989. He has been working at University of Science and Technology
of Chin since 1985. He is a executive member of the council of Chinese
Society of Probability and Statistics and serves for several other national
statistical organizations. He serves as editor board for Journal of System
Science and Mathematical and Chinese Journal of Applied Probability and
Statistics now. He won the second class Natural Prize of Education of China
in 2001 and the first class prize of education of Anhui Province in 2001.
Professor Wu’s research interests are regression analysis, model selection
and resampling technology.
Zhen Wu
is a Professor of Shandong University, Jinan, China. He got his doctor's
degree in Applied Mathematics from Shandong University in 1997, and
engaged in postdoctoral research in University of Maine, France from
1998 to 1999. He got the National Natural Science Fund for Distinguished
Young Scholars in 2011. He has been working at Shandong University since
1997, and now he served as Vice Dean of the School of Mathematics and
Taishan College in Shandong University. Professor Wu’s research interests
are forward-backward stochastic differential equation, stochastic optimal
control and financial mathematics. He has published more than 30 papers in the high level journals such as SIAM. J. Control Optim., IEEE Tans. Automatic
Control, Automatica,J. Differential Equations and etc. He chaired one
National quality courses and got the Second Prize of National Teaching
Achievements both in 2005 and 2009. He is a Regular Associate Member
of the Abdus Salam International Centre of Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and
a Council Member of Chinese Mathematical Society and Chinese Society
of Probability and Statistics. He has won the Youth Teacher Foundation of
Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation and the Youth Award for Science and
Technology of Shandong province. He is also one of the Young Experts with
Outstanding Contributions in Shandong province and enrolled in the New
Century Excellent Teachers Program of Education Ministry of China.
Ying Yang
is a Professor of Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He got his bachelor's
degree from Northwest Normal University in 1984, Master of Science
Degree and Doctor of Science Degree from Peking University in 1990 and
1996 respectively. He worked at Peking University from 1998 to 2002. He
has been working at Tsinghua University since July 2004. He is a council
executive member of Chinese Society of Probability and Statistics and
serves for several other national statistical organizations. Professor Yang’s
research interests are nonparametric-semiparametric estimation, selection
of smoothing parameter, median regression, longitudinal data analysis,
semiparametric density estimation and biostatistics. He focuses on the M-
cross-validation criterion and mixed Possion and continuous longitudinal
data modeling, level set estimation and spatial statistics.
Baoxue Zhang
is a Professor of Northeast Normal University, Changchun, China. He
got his bachelor's degree from Northeast Normal University in 1991,
Master of Science from Northeast Normal University in 1994, Doctor of
Science from Jilin University in 1999. He had worked at Beijing Institute
of Technology from 1999 to 2003. He has been working at Northeast
Normal University since 2003. He is a council executive member of Chinese Society of Probability and Statistics and serves for several other national
statistical organizations. He serves as editor board for Operations Research
and Fuzziology in 2012. He won the second class prize of Natural Science
Award of Ministry of Education of China in 2006. He is also enrolled in
the New Century Excellent Teachers Program of Education Ministry of
China. Professor Zhang’s research interests are longitudinal data analysis,
Functional data analysis, model selection and machine learning. He works
on dimension reduction and regression for functional data analysis, a finite
mixed model for longitudinal data, model selection under order restriction,
and information statistics.
Lixin Zhang
is a Professor and the Vice Chairman of Department of Mathematics at
Zhejiang University. He received his bachelor's degree in Pure Mathematics
from Tianjin University of Technology and Education in 1990, Doctor of
Science in Probability and Statistics from Fudan University in 1995. He
has been working at Zhejiang University since 1995. He is now a Vice
President of Zhejiang Association for Applied Statistics, a Council Member of
Chinese Association of Applied Statistics and a Council Member of Zhejiang
Mathematical Society. He has published more than 100 research papers in
journals such as Annals of Statistics, Annals of Probability, Annals of Applied
Probability, Stochastic Processes & Applications, Bernoulli etc.

of China. Professor Lixin Zhang’s current research interests include limit

Riquan Zhang
is Ph.D. supervisor and dean of Statistics Department at East China Normal
University (ECNU). He got his bachelor's degree from Sichuan University in
1988, Master of Science degree and Ph.D. from Statistics Department of
ECNU in 1998 and in 2003 respectively. His postdoctoral research was
fulfilled at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science in Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2005, and he was exceptionally promoted to a
professor at the same year. From 2004 to 2008, he visited Hong Kong
Polytechnic University and University of Hong Kong as a research fellow. He
has been working at ECNU since 2006. He also serves for several professional
associations, for example, council member of Chinese Society of Probability
and Statistics, periodical editor of Chinese Journal of Applied Probability and
Statistics, executive council member of the Chinese Society of Environment
and Economy Statistics, council member of Survival Analysis branch of
Chinese Association for Applied Statistics, executive council member of the
Risk Management Society of Shanxi Province. In recent years, he has
published more than 80 academic papers in various international
professional journals, among which 33 papers have been quoted by SCI/SCIE,
as well as one monograph and one textbook. Altogether he has taken charge
of and participated in 16 scientific research projects, including 2 projects
supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, 1 project
supported by Doctoral Fund of Ministry of Education of China, 1 key project
supported by National Bureau of Statistics of China, etc. Professor ZHANG’s
research interests are mainly in the area of nonparametric regression
models, semiparametric regression models, variable selection, quantile
regression. He works on environmental data / functional data analysis with
semiparametric regression models with single index, dimension reduction,
quantile regression, variable selection and model selection.
Zhongzhan Zhang
is a Professor of Beijing University of Technology, Beijing, China. He got
his Master of Science Degree in 1986 from Yunnan University, and Ph.D.
from Kyushu University (Japan) in 1999 respectively. He has been worked at
Beijing University of Technology since 1986. He is a vice president of Chinese
Association for Applied Statistics, serves for several other national statistical
organizations. Professor Zhang’s research interests include
for semiparametric isotonic regression, variable selection in complicated
regression models, inferences for epidemiological studies and reliability
estimation tests. He is associate editors for Journal of Mathematical Statistics and
Management, Journal of Applied Probability and Statistics, and International
Journal of Biomathematics.
Weian Zheng
is a State endowed Professor of East China Normal University. He obtained
the title of Docteur d'Etat in 1984 at University of Strasbourg; he was a
visiting associate Professor in 1985 at University of Bielefeld; he was a
visiting researcher in 1986 and 1988 at University of Edinburgh. He became
full professor in 1986 at East China Normal University. He visited UCSD in
1989 and he worked at UC Irvine for 21 years, His current research interests
are applying probability and statistics into finance and logistics.
Zhongyi Zhu
Ph. D, Professor, Department of Statistics, Fudan University. He is a vice
president of China society of Probability and Statistics. His research interests
include Longitudinal Data Analysis, Nonparametric and Semiparametric
models and Credibility Theory. He has published more than 80 papers in
Journals including Annal of Statistics, Biometrika, JASA, JRSS-B. He is an
associate editor of Statistica Sinica.
