IMS Individual Membership
The IMS is an international professional and scholarly society devoted to the development, dissemination, and application of statistics and probability. The Institute currently has about 4,000 members in all parts of the world.
Membership benefits include:
- free electronic access to past issues of all our journals.
- discounts at our sponsored meetings. The IMS sponsors a series of meetings: an Annual Meeting (usually held during the summer), regional meetings, and special topics meetings. Many of these are joint meetings with other societies.

Types of Membership
Most IMS members are Regular members. If you do not fit in one of the
categories below, you are a Regular member.
Life Memberships
are available to any IMS member at the rates
indicated. Life membership rates: For members age 50 or older the dues
rate is fifteen times the annual regular membership dues. For members
younger than 50, the dues rate is fifteen times the annual regular
membership dues plus an amount equal to the annual regular membership
dues for each year below age 50
Retired Life members must be 65 year of age or older.
New Graduates are those who have graduated (any level, undergraduate
through doctorate) in the last 2 years. The first year out of school
new graduate dues will be one-third of the regular dues rate, the
second year out will be two-thirds. The third year, the new graduate
will become a regular individual member.
Reduced Country Membership dues are available to permanent residents
of countries designated by the IMS Council. An updated list of
countries in which reduced IMS individual membership dues may be paid

Retired Membership dues are available to individuals who have been IMS
members for the preceding ten years and are retired from gainful
employment.
Student Membership is available to full-time students. Additional
journal subscriptions may be purchased at the student subscription
price. Evidence of full-time student status must be provided each
year. Student memberships are ordinarily available for a maximum of
four years.

How to Order IMS Publications
Order all items in the prepaid from the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, Dues and Subscriptions Office.
The Institute accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card payments for subscriptions to its journals and purchases of its other publications. Provide the following information to use your VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover Card to purchase IMS publications: complete account number, expiration date, name on card, telephone/fax/email, and authorized signature.
VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover information or a U.S. dollar check or draft payable through a U.S. bank in U.S. Funds must accompany your order. Do not send cash, purchase orders or postal coupons. Prices include surface mail postage. Airmail postage is available at customer's expense.
